1ST LESSON: 2 Chronical 19:4-11

2ND LESSON: 2 Corinthians 5:11-21

After Jehoshaphat returned from his campaign with King Ahab against the king of Syria and narrowly escaped death, he gave his life more to God’s service

Jehu the seer had confronted him for his alliance with the wicked Ahab, saying that God was angry with Jehoshaphat but fortunately, God also found some good in him

Before now, Jehoshaphat had removed the Asherah poles from his country and set his heart to seeking God

Jehoshaphat now commits himself to going throughout his country helping people to turn back to God and worship God

He appointed judges in all the fortified towns of Judah as well as Levites, priests, and clan leaders in Jerusalem

He charged them to serve in the fear of God, with faithfulness, integrity, and undivided heart

Paul in his second letter to the Corinthians affirmed that his motivation for the hard work in persuading people is his understanding of his fearful responsibility to the Lord

Either considered crazy or in his right mind, he is controlled by Christ’s love

He had stopped evaluating people from a human point of view because Christ died for all and now people are dead to their old life and have a new one in Christ

Those who received the new life have a responsibility not to live for themselves any longer but to live for Christ because of this gift they have received from God

God has given the message of reconciliation and the task of reconciling people to him to every believer

We speak for Christ when we beg people to be at peace with God

“For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.
