LESSON SUMMARY IN 300 WORDS

333rd EDITION, September 27th, 2026

1ST LESSON: Exodus 19:1-11

2ND LESSON: Revelations 1:1-11

On the first day of the third month that Israel left Egypt, they arrived at the Desert of Sinai and camped in front of the mountain where they would spend the next year.

At Sinai, Moses went up to God on the mountain, and God revealed to him why he rescued the Israelites from slavery.

God reaffirmed their salvation as an intentional act of grace and not their works.

Based on fully obeying and keeping God’s covenant, Israel is to become a kingdom of priests and a holy nation so that the whole world would know God through his people.

Moses returned to the camp and reported to the elders, who in one voice responded, “We will do everything the LORD has commanded.”

Then God promised to come to the congregation in a thick cloud to address the people and authenticate Moses as covenant mediator.

In the second lesson, with the help of an angel, Jesus gave his message to John in a revelation, allowing John to see and record future events to encourage believers.

It opens with a beatitude that promises favor to those who read, hear, and rightly respond to John’s prophetic testimony because the time of its fulfillment is near.

The opening greetings of this book are rooted in the triune God, who is, was, and is to come, introducing Jesus the exalted ruler, and followed by the letters to the seven churches in the province of Asia.

John affirmed that Jesus’ resurrection has made believers free from sins and made us a kingdom of priests for God.

Jesus, the Alpha and Omega, is coming again, visibly and victorious.

John was instructed to write down the visions while worshipping in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, on the island of Patmos, where he was exiled for preaching the word of God.
