God summoned his people Israel, his faithful people who made a covenant with him by giving sacrifices.
God's charge against them is not about their sacrifices or the constant burnt offering they offer.
God told them He does not need bulls or goat; for all the animals not only belong to God but are in his reach, if God wanted he wouldn't request it from a man.
But God does not eat the flesh of bulls neither did he drink the blood of goats.
What does God need? "Sacrifice thanks offering to God and fulfill your vow".
The thanks offering is a form of fellowship offering that allows the worshipper to partake of the communal meal associated with it.
The Fellowship Offering symbolized communion or peace with God and this, God prefers to the other forms of sacrifice that focus on the worshipper's sins.
At this, they can call on God in the day of trouble and he will deliver them, and honor comes to him.
The author of Hebrews established Jesus as the Great High Priest because being fully divine and fully human he can provide the ultimate sacrifice for sin, following the pattern of the Old Testament priestly order but surpassing and fulfilling it.
He entered the Most Holy Place not using the blood of goats and calves but by his blood, by which he obtained eternal redemption.
His blood is sufficient to cleanse our conscience from acts that lead to death and enable us to serve the living God.
He died as a ransom to free people from the sins committed under the first covenant and thus became the mediator between people and God.
The blood of animals validates the old covenant but the blood of Christ validates the new covenant.
